Vicky Lynn Regan was born to Joseph Timothy ‘Tim’ Regan, Jr. and Fern (Ebbenga) Regan on August 20, 1947 at Lander, WY. She graduated from Lander High School in 1965, and got her Bachelor of Education from Black Hills State College, Spearfish, SD in 1971.
Vicky taught at Wood, SD for one year beginning in the fall of 1971. That is where she met her husband, Bernie Eklund. They were married by a Justice of the Peace in Rapid City, SD on May 26, 1972. They moved to Valentine, NE in June 1972, where Bernie was employed at First National Bank. To this union two sons, Tony and Jarred, were born.
Vicky became employed by the Todd County School District in 1973, and taught 31 years in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades at South Elementary in Mission, SD until she retired in May of 2005. She had good discipline and did all she could for her students. She began fighting cancer in 2012, and took five years of chemotherapy. She passed away at home on January 21, 2019 from complications of that cancer. Her greatest pleasure was providing for her family and watching her grandchildren.
Vicky is survived by her husband Bernie; two sons: Tony of Valentine and Jarred (Shaquinta) of Lincoln; four grandchildren: Dillon, Triston, Noah and Mataya of Valentine; three brothers: Ron Regan of Loveland, CO, Clark Regan of Gillette, WY and Henry (Julia) Regan of Moorcroft, WY; sister LaDonna (Gary) Pickinpaugh of Riverton, WY; plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tim Regan, III.
