Obituary for Goldie Farmer
Goldie Farmer, age 94 of Wood, SD, started her journey to the spirit world on May 17, 2016 at her home in Wood. She was surrounded by many who loved her dearly.
Goldie was born in Bad Nation, SD to Pete Farmer, Sr. and Nellie Bear Doctor on April 27, 1922. She loved to travel and lived in many different places. She also loved quilting, powwows, doing rummages and visiting with family and friends. Her last 19 years, Goldie resided in Wood, SD where she was surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children: Altina, Vera Rose, Velma, Barbara Jo, Theresa Ann, Vincent Thomas, Melvin, Marvin and Deanna Sue; and siblings: Pete ‘Sni’ Farmer, Jr., Lee ‘Buck’ Farmer, Robert Tracy ‘Happy’ Farmer, Carrie Farmer and Theresa Farmer.
Goldie is survived by her children: Beverly Schweigman, Glen Janis, Steve Brave Boy, Jean Marie Brave Boy and Robin Rae Haukaas; 44 grandchildren; many many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister: Carol Rose Farmer Valandra.
