Joseph Fremont Yellow was born in Wood, SD on July 20, 1932 to Joseph and Alice (White Wash) Yellow. He passed away in Yankton, SD on February 12, 2014 at the age of 81 years.

Wakes will be held Saturday and Sunday with funeral at 2:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Okreek School Gym. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Wood.

Fremont is survived by his wife Arlene Yellow of Okreek; 7 children: Phyllis Yellow of Rapid City, Thomas Yellow of Rapid City, Josephine Yellow of Rapid City, Brenda Yellow Emery of Mission, Judith Yellow of Rapid City, Regina Yellow of Yankton and Brandon Yellow of Okreek; and one brother Wayne Evans of Vermillion, SD.

Fremont was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert & Jerome Evans and daugther Edith Yellow.
